Jörn Lande
The highly rated vocalist Jorn Lande has a vocal capability that is world class, distinctive, rich and spanning a large range. He is considered one of the world’s best classic rock singers, as such the man is in high demand. His main band is Masterplan, consisting of the two ex-Helloween members guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch, in addition to Jan S Eckert on bass and Axel Macenroth on keyboard. They toured the world in 2003 with their first album “Masterplan”, and are planning their second album this year. Masterplan started the New Year with receiving an award for best selling border breaking debut album 2003, and this event took place at The Border Breakers Awards Ceremony at Midem Festival in Cannes.
Jorn has been busy throughout the years, and he has 10–15 releases to show for it. He has also made himself visible in several bands and projects, not only through his unique vocal abilities, but also as a proffesional and strong songwriter. Among these bands/projects are Vagabond, Mundanus Imperium, The Snakes (with Bernie Marsden and Mickey Moody of Whitesnake and Don Airey of Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne and Deep Purple), Millenium, Beyond Twilight, Nostradamus-The rock opera (also featuring Joe Lynn-Turner, Alannah Myles, Glenn Hughes, among others) and ARK. He has also received much credit and press around his two previous solo albums Jorn “Starfire” and Jorn “Worldchanger”.
This busy bee has started settling down, and concentrates now mostly on Masterplan and his solo carrier. But this doesn’t mean that we’ll be hearing any less from this powerful Rock’n Roll Viking! Jorn signed a new solo deal with AFM Records, (who also has Masterplan), recording a fresh album “Out to every nation” in the summer of 2003. Musicians on this opus include bassist Magnus Rosèn of Hammerfall, alongside the Pagan’s Mind pairing of guitarist Jørn Viggo Lofstad and drummer Stian Kristoffersen. The album was released in April 2004. Along with this new solo album there will also be a video available for the song “Living with wolves”. This video was recorded in historical surroundings at Vemork, an early 19th century electrochemical processing plant that produced heavy water during world war 2, and was the scene of sabotage plots to prevent the germans from using the heavy water for nuclear bombs. Today the factory is a museum. Vemork is located in Jorns birth place, The city of Rjukan in the county of Telemark, Norway.
Long may him produce?
